Who is a candidate?
There are many acne treatment options on the market, but most of them involve subjecting your skin to harsh chemicals or taking medications that can have serious, long term effects as well as affect your entire body. AviClear is a long term solution for acne that is completely free of drugs and chemicals. AviClear is safe for all types of acne, including cystic acne and other severe, treatment-resistant types of acne. In addition to helping clear up acne breakouts, AviClear can also improve the appearance of acne scars. AviClear is safe for patients as young as 13.
While this treatment option is safe and effective for most people, it may not be the right option for pregnant women, those with rosacea, and people who currently have or have been previously diagnosed with skin cancer.
What to expect during your AviClear treatment
During your initial consultation, your licensed provider will examine your skin, discuss your acne history, and help you determine whether AviClear is the right acne treatment for you. We will also recommend a few skincare products to start using before your first AviClear treatment. We've found that getting a jumpstart on reducing the inflammation associated with acne lesions can make a big difference during the laser treatment.
At your first AviClear acne treatment, we will cleanse your skin thoroughly to minimize the risk of side effects or infection. Once the skin is cleansed, the laser treatment will begin. Water is applied to the skin during the treatment to keep the skin cooled and allow the laser's energy to work solely on the sebaceous gland. During the treatment you may feel some warmth and a snapping or tingling sensation. AviClear has a sapphire, skin -cooling technology that minimizes most discomfort, but some of our clients tell us that larger cystic lesions can be tender during treatment. This feedback is why we now recommend a few weeks of topical skincare products to reduce some of this inflammation before starting AviClear.

After your AviClear Acne Treatment
Most commonly, patients notice some redness at the treatment site immediately following the procedure, this diminishes over the next few hours. Occasionally, some clients will experience a flare in their acne lesions in the weeks following a treatment, but we discuss ways to minimize these occurrences during your consultation.
After your treatment, we will provide you with a skincare treatment plan to promote healing and recovery. Sunscreen will be applied before you leave your appointment, and you are able to apply makeup the same day.
In the days, weeks, and months following, you will see an improvement in your acne, with the full effects around six months after completing your treatment series.
